Career path

Following completion of Honours qualification in contact lenses in early 70’s worked in full time contact lens practice in London, Kent, Surrey and Home Counties.

Joined City & Islington College in late 1994, appointed to full time staff in December 1994. Completed teaching qualification at Institute of Education, University of London.

Currently Senior Contact Lens Lecturer in Centre for Applied Optics

Professional achievements

Member of BCLA since early 80’s, served on BCLA Council as Dispensing Section Chairman, and later Hon Treasurer. President of BCLA 1994 – 95.

Current student projects

The Contact Lens section of the Centre for Applied Optics has an ongoing project developing a ‘profile’ of contact lens wearers, determined by patient questionnaires distributed to a wide range of practices across the UK.
