Dr Simon Little PhD MSc PgDipLaw MCOptom FAAO FBDO ILTM After a very
brief career as a Dispensing Optician, Simon graduated in Optometry from The
City University, London in 1987. Not satisfied with this he completed MSc
Optometry, University of Bradford (1991), PhD, Queensland University of
Technology, Brisbane, Australia (1996) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Law,
University of Huddersfield (2001). Along the way he has picked up some
professional qualifications: FADO, MFDO (now FBDO) (1984); MCOptom (1988);
FAAO (1994) and Membership of the Institute of Learning and Teaching in
Higher Education (ILTM) (2002). Simon has
practised optometry in the UK, Queensland and Tasmania. He has held posts as
Senior Research Optometrist at QUT, Lecturer at UMIST, Senior Optometrist at
Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and has been Clinic Director in the Department
of Optometry, University of Bradford since August 2002. In his current role
he is Head of Primary Care and Low Vision clinics as well as teaching in
Contact Lens clinics and lecturing in Law and in Contact Lenses. Simon has published several
refereed papers and a book chapter in the areas of corneal physiology, tear
film and contact lens performance; he is a PQE examiner for the College of
Optometrists, and has had success as a pre-registration supervisor as well as
delivering revision courses for pre-registration students. Tel: +44
